Classes
Saloons are split into 4 classes based on your engine capacity
3001+ cc
2001 - 3000cc
1601 - 2000cc
0 - 1600cc
The engine capacity is based on your engine cc and a modifier of:
x 1.7 for Turbo/Supercharger cars
x 1.8 for cars with rotary engines.
e.g. 1300cc rotary = 1300 x 1.8 = 2340cc
“Saloon” means a two(2) or four(4) door vehicle not falling into the Sports Car, Sports Racing Car, or GT categories, including the convertible and hatchback variants of the same;
Rules & Regs
Licence
You must have have a minimum of a MSNZ C Grade Competition Licence to compete
Racecar
Your racecar must meet the following regulations
Safety Gear
Open run as a National Event which means a higher level of safety gear is required e.g. Frontal Head Restraints (FHR) are mandatory and multi layer overall’s are required.
Please consultant the Motorsport NZ regulations for the required gear.
Championship
Eligible entries: Cars entered as club cars (enclosed variants) at the event. Points will be awarded to the driver/car combination entered. Vehicle / driver changes are permitted but points are non transferable. Qualifying points will be based on lap time. Fastest time overall - 50 points dropping by 1 point per place.
Race points will be based on the final finishing position in each race overall.
1st place - 20 points,
2nd place – 18 points,
3rd place 16 points,
4th place – 14 points,
5th place – 12 points,
6th place – 10 points
7th place – 9 points dropping 1 point per place down to 15th which they and all other finishers receive 1
