SSCUP - Sport Saloons Cup

A race series set up to cater to club level cars wanting to compete in a large competitive field with minimal rules and set breakout times

This series was started by members of the South Canterbury Car Club and is designed to cater to Clubsport type cars wanting to race on the track. X series cars with nowhere to race etc. Anything goes! Except for one thing. Minimum race times.

Like many series racing now, cost is controlled by lap times. Breakout and move up a class. Break out of class A and leave the series. However, don't worry because if you are too fast for this series, you will fit nicely into OSCA racing. Your race car should be able to be extremely competitive at a low cost. Cars must be caged and fully comply to Schedule A.

Event Format

Events are run over a weekend with

• Qualifying (15 min)

• Race 1 (6-8 laps)

• Race 2 (6-8 laps) Reverse Grid, Handicap Start

• Race 3 (6-8 laps) Reverse Grid

• Race 4 (6-8 laps) Reverse Grid, Handicap Start

Classes

Class A

Being vehicles capable of laps times (in dry conditions) of:

• Levels: 1:09.000 – 1:10.999

• Ruapuna (Circuit One): 1:35.000 – 1:36.999

• Highlands (GT Circuit): 1:51.000 – 1:55.999

• Highlands (A&C Circuit): 1:18.000 – 1:19.999

• Teretonga: 1:06.000 – 1:07.999

Class B

Being vehicles capable of laps times (in dry conditions) of:

• Levels: 1:11.000 – 1:14.999

• Ruapuna (Circuit One): 1:37.000 – 1:41.999

• Highlands ( GT Circuit): 1:56.000 – 1:59.999

• Highlands (A&C Circuit):  1:20.000 – 1:23.999

• Teretonga: 1:08.000 – 1:10.999

Class C

Being vehicles capable of laps times (in dry conditions) of:

• Levels: 1:15.000 and slower

• Ruapuna(Circuit One): 1:42.000 and slower

• Highlands ( GT Circuit):  2:00.000 and slower

• Highlands (A&C Circuit): 1:24.000 and slower

• Teretonga: 1:11.000 and slower
